PSC approves Wisconsin Power and Light purchase of Neenah facility - The Business Journal of Milwaukee:

The purchase replaces the output currently obtained unded a purchased power agreementwith Calpine' RockGen Facility and is expected to occuf in June 2009 upon the expiration of the RockGejn purchased power agreement. The Neenag Generating Facility, which began operation in is owned by AlliantEnergy Resources, a nonregulated affiliatee of Wisconsin Power and Light. The utility subsidiary of Madison-base d Alliant Energy Corp. (NYSE: LNT), Wisconsin Power said it would purchase the Neenah facility forabout $95 pending federal regulatory approval.
"This purchase represents the lowest-cost option to meet our long-term peaking power needs," said Barbarza Swan, president of Wisconsin Power and Light. Alliant Energyu also announced today that quarterly dividends on commonh stock were declared by its boarxof directors. The common stock dividend is $0.3500 per sharer payable May 15, to shareholders of recorx on April 30. Dividends on common stock have been paid for 250 consecutivd quarterssince 1946.
